MA Gov. Orders State's Oldest Institution Closed
Boston, Feb. 26, 2003 -- Fernald Developmental Center, the oldest publicly-funded institution housing people with developmental disabilities in the Western Hemisphere, is to be closed under a budget proposal from Governor Mitt Romney.
